Desert Stranger - s/t Canadian New
“All those years I slept all day” sings Andrew Gharib on “Interstellar”, the first single off his debut solo self-titled effort as Desert Stranger. For him, this is a fresh start. Formerly the singer/guitarist of Animal Confession, they released two albums, playing alongside numerous acts including Three Days Grace, Dear Rouge, Rise Against, CeVilain, The Damn Truth, and In My Coma.

Owing the name of his solo project to his Lebanese roots, the name “Gharib” directly translates into “stranger”; this comes from his ancestors who used to refer to newcomers into their villages as ‘stranger’. Perhaps being a stranger is the best way to get to know yourself and figure out where you’re going.

How Long
Pat Moore - Take it to Heart Canadian
Pat Moore’s voice has a warm and expressive quality, as perfectly suited to a rich ballad, as it is to an up-tempo power song. She moves easily from the storytelling of the singer/songwriter genre, to the lonesome sound of traditional country and bluegrass.

In the 1980’s Pat played dog-house bass and sang lead and harmony in Maple Hill, an award winning bluegrass band. Later, Pat ventured out on her own, writing, and releasing her debut solo CD, The Time’s Never Been Better. In 2003 Pat recorded her second CD, Take it to Heart, and formed her band The Vinyl Frontier. Her recordings have received praise from far and wide - Holland, Italy, Australia, the U.S. and across Canada, for her captivating storytelling, her warm strong voice, and the musicianship of the people she surounds herself with.

Three Chords and a Lie
Matt Gower - Sense of Self Canadian New
Matt Gower’s latest release, Sense of Self, was written and recorded entirely during the pandemic. It features themes of depression, isolation, healing, family and love. With a newborn and toddler at home, this was an especially challenging task to find quiet moments to work on the album. With so much (or little) time devoted to family and music, needless to say, his house is a bit messy...

“It was a time when I felt trapped in my small city and knew I needed change. There was a small fire burning inside of me demanding a larger flame. This song describes my inner struggle between staying comfortable in my routine or going after what I really want- but potentially facing some failures. It’s the uncertain leap, and when I turned “23”, “
