Thank you for tuning into Vintage Love tonight. Starting out tonight's show with a great instrumental version of "Many Rivers To Cross".. just such a nice laid back vibe I had to play it to start off the show tonight. Following that a more rare version of "Pass It On" by Marley & The Wailers and of course some Luciano as we are now within 2 weeks of his concert coming up on June 14th at Algonquin College. I hope you are planning to attend. Luchee puts on a fabulous show.. not to mention all of the positive music, lyrics and vibes. Thanks to Sharty B. for bringing such a living Reggae legend to the GOA. Continuing on, the first set of music included covers by Lukie D. by request, Tessanne, Black Judah and Stevie Face. Then we moved into a set of some Rock Steady for you featuring Lester Sterling, Delroy Wilson, Derrick Harriott and more. During the usual "Detour" around the weather time, we heard the late great George Michael, the Ohio Players, Earth, Wind & Fire and a classic from The Emotions all the way back to 1977 with "Don't Ask My Neighbor". Rounding out the show tonight, a couple of requests that came in during the week... one for Ernie Smith and a request for some June Lodge with " Someone Loves You Honey"... which I tied onto.. a tiny tribute to my Uncle whose birthday would have been today. Still (and always) missin' and lovin' you Uncle Hal. Thanks for all the guidance and encouragement, the fish cakes, turn overs, currant rolls and so many irreplaceable memories. :-) Following that was a big tune from Bitty McLean with Sly & Robbie from Bittys' most recent album "Love Restart", a selection from Etana's highly acclaimed and Grammy nominated album "Reggae Forever", and a couple of tracks from Estelle; one by request during a short overtime session for the VL show as we waited for New Jack City to take over the airwaves. Someone asked for more covers, so we ended off this episode of Vintage Love with some Mikey Spice and a song from the Barry White collection, "Practice What You Preach". Happy Birthday Uncle Hal! Miss ya and love you still.... until the end of my days. Thank you once again for tuning into VL tonight.
