Craig Pedersen/Joe Morris/Mark Molnar concert preview

Former IMOO curator Craig Pedersen regularly spends some time in New York City studying. Inevitably he met some New York based players. This time it is virtuoso guitarist Joe Morris that has been labeled by the normally very straight ahead magazine Down Beat as “the most exciting and original Jazz plucker to emerge in the last decade”. They will be performing at the Black Squirrel Book Store tomorrow, Thursday, at 7:30 pm, all of this with local Rostropovitch cellist Mark Molnar. Tonight, we will review some of his solo recordings and some quartet formation with an oboist and accordionist Andrea Parkins for some unusual textures.
