In this first broadcast of In a Mellow Tone during the 2019 edition of Black History Month, we will listen to some recordings which celebrate the struggle for freedom and equality of the African American people, from the time they were taken away from Africa to today. Two musicians will be featured: John Carter (Castles of Ghana, Fields, and Dance of the Love Gosts) and Wadada Leo Smith (Ten Freedom Summers).
