Me again. I grew up with a German stepmother...so we did Christmas the German way. We would go to bed Christmas Eve with no sign of Christmas in the house, then we'd be woken up at midnight to a full on Christmas, the tree up, the gifts and "treat plates" with shelled nuts, marzipan treats, biscuits and oranges. We'd open our presents and go back to bed. And the tree was always done entirely in silver.
