Inside Jazz
Sunday January 26th, 2025 with Jim Reil & Ron Steeds
Starring Phil Woods...

Early in his career, Phil Woods was considered a Charlie Parker inspired alto sax player. His technique was impressive and his recordings were well received. Today we play two of his 1970's records that display his prowess on the alto sax. In the first hour Jim introduces his MUSIQUE DU BOIS recorded January 14, 1974 for the Muse record label. In the second hour Ron features his SONG FOR SISYPHUS recorded November 9, 1977 for the Gryphon label.
