#PepTalk tips to prepare for summer activities to avoid injury.
stay hydrated!adequate hydration should start 2 hours before exercise by drinking anywhere between 7 to 20 oz of water!
Warm up and cool down before and after physical activity. EG if you're going out for a run, try jogging for 5 minutes before picking up your pace. Jumping jacks are another option.
Cooling down should involve 5 minutes of a walk followed by stretching.
Wear appropriate footwear for the activity! running shoes tend to be lighter with more cushioning, but they lack the lateral support to be adequate for a sport like basketball. Also, ensure the shoes fit properly!
Cross train! give your muscles and joints a break from performing the same motions repeatedly by playing different sports. If you're a runner, try swimming or volleyball!
Play at the right skill level! If you're new to a sport or activity, ensure the competition level suits your abilities when getting started!

Playing out doors, drinking from garden hoses, “go outside and get the stink blown off of you.” Words to live by from my Mum, a faithful CKCU listener. Love the tribute to mums and the fitness tips. Looking forward to the rest of the show. Glad I don’t have to go to CKCU today—construction (aagghhh!)

I saw your video, Pierre. Glad to hear you're doing a little better. I'll be sure to check out the fitness advice list later on, I need to know how to not get injured. Your segments need to be longer! I liked the top 5 lists about advice your mom's gave you. They both sound like smart people. Keep up the good work fellas

Pep. I've known you for 25 years and you STILL talk about your mom the EXACT same way you always have. You're one of a kind. Jeff, you should cook for Pep!

late in the game here. I always thought Pierre's calling would be Radio or Television not because he has a great voice because he does, but he's one of the only people I've ever known to be able to reach people right to their core. Watching his video broke me down. He has been there for everyone, myself included, glad to see people are there for him. his family are what all families should aspire to be like. I hope this new journey Pierre brings you all the love and happiness and succes you deserve. Your heart is unmatched. Jeff it sounds like you're a wonderful mentor. great show gang
