Bar Robo (Ottawa) with The Angelina Hunter Trio

"This summer we made a decision to move on to the next phase of whatever this band life could be called. We talked about trying to book out-of-town shows. Shows where we got to play our originals to an audience that was actually there to listen to them. Shows where we could tell stories and interact with the people in the room, where we could laugh and be ourselves and share a piece of our hearts with everyone who had come.
We honestly didn't know if anyone would book us.
This Ottawa show is the first in a series of shows we booked according to the new plan. It is indescribably exciting and also extremely nerve-wracking. Our parents and all the friendly faces we've come to know and love at our hometown shows won't be at this show. It's a whole new testing ground. Wish us luck as we hit Ottawa and Kingston this weekend!"

Jazz Weather!

Jazz Méditerranée brings together five friends with a long history of musical collaboration. Born in the South of France, Hélène Knoerr has found her voice singing jazz and bossa nova in French, English and Portuguese, and is developing her skills as a singing bass player/ bass-playing vocalist. Devon Woods is a multi-instrumentalist (woodwinds and reeds) who has been playing jazz and world music as a hobby since the 70s. Ed Stevens, once a classical violinist, is interested in a wide range of musical styles and traditions, and this contributes to his versatility as a guitarist. Andre Van Schyndel brings influences from various classical, jazz and folk disciplines to his work on accordion and 12-string guitar. Chris Smith began drumming in his teens and has played many venues around Ottawa including the Ottawa Jazz Festival.
