Greenbank can’t stay away from a piano, and neither can we. We’re looking forward to having their sweet harmonies, smooth piano chops, and mellow 70s vibe in our hall. They draw on the folk-rock sounds of the Guess Who and the Laurel Canyon scene, while anchoring their subject matter firmly in the present day. Greenbank is made up of Jim Breslin (Guitar/ Vocals) and Craig Smyth (Keyboards/ Vocals), and their sound is bigger than their numbers would have you think. Based in Thunder Bay, Greenbank have just released their second album, Glory Days.

Opening for Greenbank will be Ottawa’s Moonfruits. Partners on and off stage, Alex Millaire & Kaitlin Milroy are practitioners of “folk bilingue”. Their harmonies are stunning, and their instrumentation is original. Their latest project, Ste-Quelquepart, (Saint Somewhere), is an elaborate fiction, telling the tales of an imaginary village in Eastern Ontario.

Lights Down Low
Erin Costello - Sweet Marie Canadian
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6veEcRg0oWM

Although she has been compared to icons like Carole King and Nina Simone, Erin Costelo’s fifth studio album, Sweet Marie, cements her status as an utterly inimitable voice in Americana music.

On the new album, Erin looks at a world and industry that pushed her to the edge of ending her musical career – but she pushes back. Taking inspiration from sources as varied as Ryan Adams, Randy Newman, and the Staple Singers, Sweet Marie is a genre-defying album that sounds at once timeless, timely and completely fresh. Pulsing with a confident and cathartic energy, Erin’s voice soars even as her songs dive deep.

Born in Berlin to a musical, bilingual family, she started composing and performing at the age of 15. Soon after, Roxanne moved to London, equipped with her guitar, her songs and a one-way ticket.

Glastonbury’s legendary acoustic stage, a showcase at Folk Alliance in the USA, opening for Martha Wainwright, Ricky Ross and Thea Gilmore as well as touring in her own right across Europe only account for a handful of events that filled by Roxanne’s diary over the past twelve months. Her debut album and follow-up EP garnered support from BBC6, Xfm, The Sunday Times, R2 Magazine to name a few. In Germany, Roxanne has even made the prime time news together with Taylor Swift in a feature on the future of music as well as receiving national press in FAZ and Intro Magazine. Roxanne de Bastion is no stranger to the independent music scene supporters across Europe.
