Midnight Shine - Midnight Shine Canadian New
http://midnightshineonline.com/

At Bluesfest last summer, on the bill the night Tom Petty played. Touring again this summer, no Ottawa dates at this point.

Adrian Sutherland (from Attawapiskat) – who is fluent in Mushkegowuk Cree, his native language – is a traditional knowledge keeper of his people, sings pow wow, participates in spring and fall harvests, and is a genuine example of someone who lives authentically. He is a father, grandfather, hard-working husband, and cultural leader, proud of who he is, and his home in the North. He is an inspiration to people all over the James Bay, and a true role model who brings hope to people in places where they sometimes have a hard time finding hope. From Attawapiskat

With Stan Louttit (born in Wemindji, Quebec and raised in Moose Factory, Ontario) and Zach Tomatuk (Moose Factory)

Line up: Nick Sherman, Jonathan Becker, Kimberly Sunstrum

Singer-songwriter Nick Sherman gives new meaning to “the voice in the wilderness,” or rather ,the voice from the wilderness. While he still calls his rural birthplace of Sioux Lookout home, Sherman spent much of his youth out on the land, moving between his hometown, the small First Nation community of Weagamow Lake, and his family’s trap line on North Caribou Lake.
