During the FMO conference (Oct 20-23, 2016 at the Delta Ottawa City Centre), Amelia will be speaking about her own experiences to highlight the grassroots advocacy group that she founded, It's Mental. The group has a directive on citizen action to normalize perceptions of mental illness in our communities. Amelia will discuss artists' responsibilities to advocate for themselves, each other, and the world view of mental illness and addiction. This session is presented by Unison Benevolent Fund. Proceeds from the kickoff concert will be shared equally by It's Mental and Folk Music Ontario.
