In conjunction with Black History Month 2019 a presentation by Funmi Adewole on African thought and dance.

This is the 2nd special broadcast with respect to ‘Black History Month 2019’ on CKCU-FM 93.1 | LITERARY NEWS . It features Funmi Adewole who is a lecturer at De Montfort U, Leicester, UK, and a practitioner-researcher focussing on the complex relationship between dance, choreography and contemporary cultures in Africa, traditional and modern. In 2017 she premiered one of her exciting solo pieces with Tangente Dance in Montreal and worked in a three day project with Dance Immersion Toronto.– Funmi Adewole is the author of a collection of poems called ‘Sea Salt in the City’, (Circaidy Gregory Press, 2013, UK). What you hear is a lightly edited version of her presentation given at an international event called «Corpus Africana. Current philosophies and Dances in Africa and its Diasporas» which took place in 2018 at The Université Toulouse Jean Jaurés in France.
