Namaste! Beautiful indeed is this world and our place in it. It is full of radiant colours but who is the rangrez that has coloured the world? It has mellifluous sounds but who is the flute player who creates these melodies? There are beautiful patterns and motifs, akriti and rachan but who is the weaver who has created this fabric? From where come the sutras and from where the loom? Beautiful is our earth but who is the potter who creates our kalashas? It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Narender Verma, who left us peacefully on September 8, 2023. Narender was a beloved husband to Amita ji, loving father to Monica (PJ) and Ravi (Kathleen) and cherished grandfather to Jesse and Oliver. नरेंद्र जी को उनके परिवार और कई दोस्त एक निपुण व्यक्ति के रूप में याद करेंगे, जिन्होंने अपने परिवार को सर्वोत्तम जीवन प्रदान करने के लिए कड़ी मेहनत की। वह विचारशील, दयालु और उदार थे और उन्होंने अनगिनत जिंदगियों को प्रभावित किया। It is with profound sorrow we inform you that Shri Prakash Chandra Sharma, born on December 1st, 1921, and departed on September 15, 2023, left an indelible mark during his 101 years of life. 1 दिसंबर 1921 को जन्मे और 15 सितंबर 2023 को दिवंगत हुए प्रकाश शर्मा जी ने अपने 101 साल के जीवन में एक अमिट छाप छोड़ी। एक प्रतिभाशाली कवि और लेखक, उन्होंने अपने शब्दों से मंत्रमुग्ध कर दिया और एक स्थायी साहित्यिक विरासत छोड़ गए। अपनी साहित्यिक प्रतिभा से परे, प्रकाश जी अपनी असीम उदारता और दयालुता के लिए जाने जाते थे। उन्होंने सभी को गर्मजोशी और स्वीकार्यता के साथ गले लगाया, जिससे दुनिया एक बेहतर जगह बन गई। एक सक्रिय आत्मा, वह जीवन की साधारण खुशियों में आनंद पाते थे, वह जहां भी जाते थे हंसी और खुशी फैलाते थे। Prakash ji spent his last 36 years in Ottawa, becoming a beloved member of the community. The film was one of the most eagerly awaited films of 2000, not only because it introduced these two newcomers but also because it’s directed by the same person who gave us a masterpiece in Border. The trio of J.P. Dutta, Anu Malik, and Javed Akhtar came up with an amazing soundtrack for Border, and the same can be said about the music for Refugee. The music is very Indian, and very ear friendly. “Panchhi Nadiyan Pawan Ke Jhonken” is rendered by Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik.
