Have a safe and lovely Thanksgiving everyone. I am thankful to have you along for these Saturday nights... because.. without you.. there would be no CKCU. Without CKCU.. there would be no Vintage Love and any of the other shows that make up the family of programs on The Mighty 93.1FM. So... thank you. Thank God for music and radio and for the opportunity to do this for you. It is truly an amazing thing. So triple x 1000 thank you's.
Tonight, featured on the program.. well first, Let's start by acknowledging this weekend and its meaning.. the importance of being thankful for what we have. in line with those thoughts especially this weekend.. everyday of course but.. especially on this holiday long weekend. So we started with Mikey Spice and a great song of reflection and thankfulness, "Thank God I'm Free". Following that, a song called "Thank You Lord" (which has become a Thanksgiving tradition to play).. of course by Bob Marley & The Wailers.
The rest of the show showcased artists such as, Glen Washington, Fiona with her version of "when Can I See You Again", Buju a miniature detour including some Alicia Keys with a gem, "Fallin'" and the one and only Lauryn Hill to follow.
Also on the show tonight a set of some Lover's Rock with Trevor Walters, Carroll Thompson, Michael Gordon et al and winding down the show Conkarah with Rosie Delmah and Jah Cure covering an all time great song by John Legend, "All Of Me".
Big ups to everyone on the Interactive Menu and to the London crew listening in tonight and to everyone on this mid-October fall evening.
