3 To One...

What is this... What is this.... white stuff falling from the sky. No.. no... it couldn't be... but... it... it.. it... is!!! Can it be?? Lord have mercy... no!!!! But unfortunately... it was. Changing my mood entirely for the rest of the day. :-( But thank God, it is Saturday and I have Vintage Love to look forward too.. for me, an oasis in a sea of sand and tumbleweed. As is the tradition for VL, we started off the show with an instrumental courtesy of Val Bennett with a song called, "Tons Of Gold". Following that we heard some Honey Boy and then delved into the heard of the matter with a beautiful piece of music, a duet, with Jamelody and Ikaya covering a Dennis Brown song, "Love Has Found It's Way"... and the phone started to ring... so we rewound that one for you to hear these sweet voices again. The rest of the way we heard Alaine, Ambelique, Leba covering some Madonnas' "La Isla Bonita". We also heard some Cocoa Tea, Yellowman and Frankie Paul. BIG birthday greetings going out to Jeremys Pops (belated greetings), whose birthday was last Saturday so extending the celebration a tad bit longer. He wanted to hear some Lee "Scratch" Perry and we played an LSP produced tune of Junior Murvin, "Police And Thieves". Also, later on to end off the show another request for the birthday boy.... Bob Marley & The Wailers with Bob's heartfelt song for Cindy... "Waiting In Vain". We also had a bit of a detour... as a new listener did not realize that we played R&B, Soul etc. on the show as well. So we extended the weather segment and played some Mario, Quincy Jones, Color Me Badd, Next, Mary J. which then led into a brief Hip Hop daze.. with Ed O.G. and Da Bulldogs, The Fugees with their amazing version of "Killing Me Softly" and one of my favorite Hip Hop groups (RIP Phife Diggy), A Tribe Called Quest with "Bonita Applebum". Yes a crazy.. all over the place show but lots of fun. Which I hope you enjoyed this show as well. Wishing you a safe remainder of the weekend and week. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all affected with the flooding in the GOA. Hopefully the levels go down and any precipitation holds off so no further damage or loss will be.
