Vintage Love
Saturday September 15th, 2018 with O'shea Adagio
Hearts' Open

Thank you for tuning into CKCU 93.1FM tonight. i hope you enjoyed Vintage Love.. or if you are tuning in On Demand, I hope you enjoy the show. If that is the case... this is what you have to look forward to on your journey through Vintage Love this week. Dean Fraser started us off with a classic from his recently released tribute album to the late great Dennis E. Brown... "No Man Is An Island". Through the 2 hours that we have together we also heard from, Lenn Hammond, J.D. Smooth, Hezron, Jo-Anne, Fiona and more. Including a request that brought out more requests for June (JC) Lodge. A request for a song for a broken heart.. which then seemed to touch a chord on the Interactive Menu. You are welcome to read through and/or leave your thoughts on the topic of love as well. Also, included in the show were some birthday greetings for an anonymous celebrator... Happy Birthday to you and a request for some Marley & The Wailers... as you may know.. my favorite song on planet earth... "Waiting In Vain". During the weather we listened to a rare Michael Jackson tune with a song called "Carousel"... (love that tune by the way) followed by The Isley Brothers. After this we started the last segment of the show with some Bingie Barker with a great great tune that I am loving... a song called, "Key To My Heart". Then off to some Maxi, Eddie and Johnny before we closed up shop for another week. As the Annual Funding Drive quickly approaches, we are trying to figure ways to encourage VL listeners to support the show and have a strong year through donations. Do you have any ideas? The show has fallen short in recent years and so we think this may be the last opportunity to keep Vintage Love on the air at CKCU. I certainly do not want it to end now and the station does not either but the final say is yours. I planted the seed oh about 15 years ago or so and over the years many of you have watered and fed that seed.. otherwise we would not have made it to this point. But this seed that has grown into a little tree.. still needs water and food to say alive and grow. I do hope to continue bringing you music on Saturday nights but as much as I want to.... this decision is not mine... but yours. I hope, if you do enjoy the show every week or once in a while... i hope you will support it with what I understand are very hard earned dollars. But hopefully you think and trust that this is a worthwhile cause. I do my best to give you 2 hours of music to relax too, to dance and romance too or just to chill and catch a good vibe too. Whatever you do... I hope it is worth a few dollars so that we can do this thing called Vintage Love again in 2019. Wow... 15yrs in Feb. I would never have thought it but proud to be doing this for so long.. proud to be an award-winning show and proud of this great station that gave Vintage Love a chance. The Mighty CKCU. My enduring thanks and hope that you will support this year. O'shea Adagio Vintage Love International "Playing With Those Memories Again" Caribbean Music and Entertainment Award - Top Reggae Radio Program 2017 CKCU The Mighty 93.1FM Around the world @ www.ckcufm.com And hopefully in your hearts. :-)

True!
"After the sorrow, you have to give love another try". Life is too short to wallow in our sorrows. You have to move on. When one door closes another opens.

I wish VL was everyday too... but I am glad for this once-a-week date that we have. How do we keep this going next year? The Funding Drive is coming up in October and if VL doesnt do well... this might be it. Any suggestions on how we can raise a good amount this year? Please help.. I dont want the show to end... if you dont want it to. Any ideas?

11:02 PM, September 15th, 2018
True!
Yes, you have to take time-out to put things in perspective, and to see how best you can protect your heart, the next time around!

11:05 PM, September 15th, 2018
Mandy
Where else can you get soothing radio tunes and sound love advice from Dr. A ?! It feels like i’m on your couch right now! ;-)

Don't take love advice from me.... I am the last to take such advice from. I can only say that as long as we draw air.... there is hope.

11:12 PM, September 15th, 2018
Auto-correct
I'm sure I wrote Hezron. These Smart phones think they know how best to spell.

11:14 PM, September 15th, 2018
O'shea Adagio (host)
Protect your heart?!?!? If you go in mostly concerned with self-protection then how can you give love freely. Again... dont listen to me but I think the thing is to give love wisely. Better to have loved and lost then to have never loved before so they say.

11:15 PM, September 15th, 2018
O'shea Adagio (host)
No problem Auto-correct... I understood you meant Hezron. :-) Thank you for tuning in and chattin' on the IM.

11:17 PM, September 15th, 2018
Auto correct
Would people attend a Vintage Love Live Session?

11:17 PM, September 15th, 2018
O'shea Adagio (host)
Well that is a good question. I would love to do it.. with proceeds going to the VL Funding Drive.... would you all go... and I dont mean a Facebook I would go.. I mean truly attend? Would you?

11:20 PM, September 15th, 2018
Good one
Oh Honey O'Shea, that's a good advice. "As long as there is life, there is hope". !

11:21 PM, September 15th, 2018
Rewind
Can you please say “ oh honey” again on the air!? Thanking you in advance, respectfully. ;-)

11:21 PM, September 15th, 2018
Loving foolishly
One must love foolishly before they can be wise with their heart.

11:22 PM, September 15th, 2018
O'shea Adagio (host)
AMEN!

11:24 PM, September 15th, 2018
I would
Two attendees here

11:25 PM, September 15th, 2018
I say yes
Nothing tried, nothing gained. A live VL Session in the park on a Saturday afternoon would be worth the while!

11:28 PM, September 15th, 2018
Sis. Love
Don't give all your heart at once. Just give a bit at a time.

11:31 PM, September 15th, 2018
Sharon
It's your turn to pick something to play for me before the show ends...if time permits

11:41 PM, September 15th, 2018
O'shea Adagio (host)
Okay Sharon... let me think of something for you... hmm.. lets see.......

11:41 PM, September 15th, 2018
Sharon
Thank you!

11:45 PM, September 15th, 2018
O'shea Adagio (host)
I think if you lock up your heart to too much... no one will find it. Yes, love freely, cautiously... but give it all... a hard lesson I learned. I can pass that along at least. Anyway.. in love.. whatever way you decide... I wish you the best.... I hope it alllll works out in the end. :-)

11:49 PM, September 15th, 2018

O'shea Adagio (host)
I will play a tune that sums up the way I feel these days about this whole discussion of how much to give... in love.

11:54 PM, September 15th, 2018
Good night
Give a little piece of your heart.

11:57 PM, September 15th, 2018
Nice..
Perfect last song!

11:57 PM, September 15th, 2018
Love you lots
Sorry to hear about your 'Love' lost. I'm sure she misses you too. But you are right. As long as thete is life, there is hope.

Being Real
I think everyone have to carve their own path in finding love. Different strokes for different folks. If you're an overly cautious person, then for SURE you will have to loosen up a bit, because the other party might not have the time or energy to peel through the layers to get to your heart. On the other hand, if you are a naturally 'giving' person, then you definitely have to put on the brakes, and protect your heart, because the other party might want to take advantage of your kindness. (It's human nature). Sometimes people get into a relationship for what they can get from the other person. It's hard to find someone who is in it for better or for worse, in the good times and not-so-good times!

12:23 PM, September 16th, 2018
Tread wisely
Experience is a great teacher. With maturity and experience, we get to know the kinds of persons we are compatible with, and who to lay our hearts open to. Finding a true love is key. Someone who has your best interest at heart. Not someone who has their own agenda for your life.

1:12 PM, September 16th, 2018
O'shea Adagio (host)
Well.. a truly great and interesting discussion with so many different view points... good points on all fronts. Some I agree with more than others but I guess for me personally... You get as much as you give... so give. if someone only takes.. its their loss but when the one comes along that gives to you and you give back... there is no loss (at least in my opinion) and love and happiness can only grow from there... in Jah. :-) Until next time... healing hands on the broken hearted, peace and understanding for those who suffer from the loss of love and blessings of health and life to all.. until we meet again.. live with hearts open.

Ok. Dr. Love, we'll try! (Nice that you included God as being part of the equation). Two thumbs up for that!
