Celebrating Mom's tonight on Vintage Love. :-) As we always do on the eve of this special day. This year I thought I would put it to you, your requests for your Mom's... their favorite tunes, and play for you and for them these songs that have such meaning in their lives. So before going any further. Happy Mother's Day to all of you Mom's out there who took the time to love, develop and raise decent beautiful children... into adults. Without you... ?????????? Vintage Love starts off each week with the words.... "How could you cope, without love? You cant" And on the eve of this Mother's Day... no truer words could be spoken. If it wasn't for that love... whether your Mom, your 2nd Moms or your (our) pseudo Mom's... where would we be.. I ask you?!?!?? So tonight... this show is for you Mothers.. specially made from the combination of love from listeners like: Terry, who requested Johnny Nashs' "Cupid" for his Mom. Nicole, whose Mom loved Freda Paynes "Band Of Gold". For Stacey and her Mom's favorite song, "Bridge Over Troubled Waters". From Maureen and Joania whose Moms have passed. So tonight for their Mom's in most respect and memory... "Three Little Birds" from Marley & The Wailers and a great cover of Chris De Burgh's "Lady In Red" for Joania's Mom. Tonight we also played a set of tunes for all of you/us whose Mom's are not with us to celebrate anymore. I thought these songs captured the love, the memories and the respect for those who have come and gone. Celine Dion's "Goodbye's (The Saddest Word)".. what an amazing song and tribute to a Mother's love.. wow. And Mikey Spice with his version of "Dance With My Mother". Patricia, wanted to hear Lisa Stansfields "All Woman" for her Mom and Elizabeths Mom loves "Up Where We Belong" from the amazing voice of Eddie Lovette. Pam's Mom loved the song "Moon River" and so this track also included on the shows playlist tonight. All these songs and more... dedicated to you Moms. Sent with love... appreciation and the understanding of an unpayable debt. And to my Mom... I love you and thank you for raising me and being there for me (and my bros) and for guiding me to be the best that I can be. For you... you loved this song since you brought it back from Barbados for me... one 45" of Boris Gardiners' "I Wanna Wake Up With You". Also, on a sad note... Johnathon M. called me during the show to inform me that the live of another member of his family was tragically taken in JA. Sending this out to you, your Mom Eleanor and to your entire family and friends and loved ones grieving this loss... Psalms 23 by Buju and Gramps for you tonight. My deepest condolences to you.
