Your newly appointed Emperors' first order of business is to mandate that all work, labor and toil shall cease as of 10pmEST on Saturday nights. This halt in work of any kind is to facilitate a 2hr period where we can all sit back, relax and chill for a little while while enjoying music on Vintage Love. So it has been spoken and henceforth shall be. haha :-)
What a fun show....from beginning to end!
One of the hard things to determine in radio is how many people are tuned in and how much (or how little) people are enjoying the show. Tonight something happened that started a barrage of messages subtly indicating that the show is enjoyed by many. Which of course is great to know but humbling at the same time.
It all started with...the change-over from Heavy Friends with host DJ Memetic and myself. As Heavy Friends wound down, DJM encouraged listeners to stay tuned for Vintage Love with.... (and i had nothing to do with this title - I promise) "The Emperor", O'shea Adagio. I laughed in the background and the switch over took place smoothly. In fact DJM and I go wayyy back which we discovered by accident one fateful night after our shows... but I digress... another story in another book.
I guess a few listeners were already tuned in prior to 10pm and heard this "Emperor" remark and it spread like wildfire on the Interactive Menu just to your right on the screen.
With so many comments and calls supporting this "new" title... so it came to pass that I, according to you all, graduated from O'shea Adagio to Emperor O'shea Adagio... hi larry us!!! So funny the back and forth... but in all seriousness, I do appreciate your comments and your support of the Vintage Love show. I have always thoroughly enjoyed bringing it to you and from the messages on the IM etc., you enjoy the show too. So for that.. i am truly grateful and thankful.
The Coronation featured artists such as Jazz Jamaica, Shaggy (a double spin of Shaggy as requested), Dennis Brown, our own Bingie Barker, Courtney John, I-Octane, Alaine, Amy Winehouse and ending the show was Maxi Priest with a true lovers classic, "Goodbye To Love Again".
What a fun time spent with you... thank you!! Thank you for all the years of support, for the entertainment you provide me every Saturday night and thank you for tuning in and supporting this little show that started ohhh.. 13+ years ago... a little idea in my mind.
As your newly crowned Emperor my vow continues and grows, to lead you on Saturday nights and any other day or night via On Demand, to the most positive vibes... the most of loving vibes... and the most peaceful vibes. All through the magic of radio and the universal language... MUSIC!
This I vow to you.. my VL Nation! Thank you for bestowing this honor upon me. I shall do my best to make you proud and make blessings flow through your radio!
CKC is all about YOU!
I love you all,
Have a good day and a better tomorrow,
