A very special night in many respects on CKCU and the VL show. As you know I had to be away for the last 2 weeks due to work and I missed being here.. it was nice to be away but on Saturday night.. it feels strange not to be with you. Anyway, I am very glad to be with you here tonight and I hope you enjoy the show. A BIG BIG thank you to Elorious Cane from Saturday afternoons The Groove fame for filling in for me a few weeks ago. Also another BIG BIG thank you to Fredrico and Antonio Adagio who filled in for me last week when I could not be here as well. As we do celebrate tonight and feel the vibes of love for the station and what we have sent out to you for these last 40 years, our hearts and minds turn to those who have been injured and to those who have been killed at the hands of hate. Whether yesterday or yesteryear.. whether in the east or the west... we remember and think of you. May the love that we feel tonight.. spread through the mic, through the speakers and out to the world... we need all the love we can give, get and share so that we can infect the world with it.
Respect to The Docking Station who pass on their most sincere regrets on not being able to make it into the studio tonight. They will be back next Sunday morning at 12am for more of what you want from midnight to 2am on your Sunday mornings with the Blazemaster and Izzle Skizzle.. Stay tuned to The Docking Station next week. In the meantime, you asked for it.. so you are stuck with me until 2am. An impromptu extended VL show for you tonight.. 4 hours of Vintage Love on 9-3-1.

Truly a celebratory party like atmosphere in the studio as we celebrate such a milestone anniversary for the station. On this night we celebrate the visionaries, the foundation people who dreamt and made the dream come true. And for all those who have passed through these doors and helped to grow the station to where we are today. And of course.. this could not be possible without so many of you out there who we may not ever have met but are a big part of the CKCU family because you kept us going each year with your support and financial support. Truly CKCU would not be celebrating this anniversary without you out there. So thank you to all... volunteers, hosts, staff, Board of Governors members over the years... and last but not least... the people who we do this for our community, our city and our world. So thank you. The call letters of the station, CKCU, where the most important letter.. at least in my mind is... U! Thank you sooo much to all who have made the realization of this day a reality.
