Interviews with Ryan Clark and Dylan Parsons of The Sink and Brad Merritt of 54-40

We open the show in conversation with members of the metalcore/hardcore Ottawa band The Sink. Ryan Clark (guitars/vocals) and Dylan Parsons (bass/vocals) join us to talk about the group's debut e.p., Reaching For Light, which was released last week. They tell us how the group got started and Ryan talks about some of the themes in his songs. They also tell us about the concert on Saturday (Jan. 27th) at the Dominion Tavern where they will be celebrating the release of the e.p. along with Salem Trials, Premeditated and No Hope X Mankind. The group recently released its 15th album entitled West Coast Band. It's an interesting collection of songs looking back at the early days of the band. It's a recording that grew out of the band's weekly online meetings during the pandemic lockdowns, when they spent much of their time reminiscing about the early days of the group. Brad tells the stories behind several of the songs on the album during this feature.
