Interviews with Chris McKhool of Sultans of String and Marc Meriläinen about their show at Centrepoint on Friday and with Brad Merritt of 54-40
The Sultans of String recently released a new album Walking Through The Fire, which features the group performing with a wide range of Indigenous and Inuit artists from all across Canada. On Friday, January 19th, the group is coming to perform at Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe, with an array of special guests to bring this recording to life. We open the show in conversation with Chris McKhool of Sultans of String and Marc Meriläinen of the Indigenous music project NADJIWAN, talking about how this project came together and how they will pull off this ambitious concert on Friday night.

Then we talk to Brad Merritt, the bassist with the group 54-40 about the group's newest album West Coast Band. Brad tells us how these songs were created, and how they find the band looking back at their early days making music back in the early 1980s.
We only have time for a short segment of this lengthy interview, and it will be featured in its entirety on The Wavelength this Monday night, January 22. (https://cod.ckcufm.com/programs/161/info.html)
