Interviews with Rachel Weldon of Debaser about Pique, Joyful Talk and The Bros. Landreth

We open the show today talking to Rachel Weldon of the local arts production group Debaser. She is producing a massive event called Pique at Arts Court this Saturday (June 11), taking over the entire building and filling it all day long with music, visual art, installations, and more. This is an incredible production that you should not miss. It is accessible to anyone as a "pay what you can" event. Rachel tells us about some amazing groups and presentations being featured this Saturday, so tune in and hear about why this is a must-see event. Get more information about Pique here: https://thisispique.com/summer Joyful Talk is one of the group's being featured as part of Pique and we check in with Jay Crocker who is the mastermind behind Joyful Talk about what to expect at their concert this weekend. We talk a lot about the new album Familiar Science and how it is a jazzy departure from the most recent recordings by Joyful Talk. Check out the music of Joyful Talk here: http://joyfultalk.com https://joyfultalk.bandcamp.com Finally we feature part of an extensive interview with The Bros. Landreth on the FM broadcast - and we feature the interview in its entirety for you if you listen to the On Demand version of the show. We talk to Daniel and Joey Landreth about the group's new album Come Morning and what went into producing it. I hope you thoroughly enjoy the part near the end where it is revealed that I have crafted parts of my interview around a big mistake.... you will enjoy it... I left it in for authenticity and because folks need a good laugh these days. The group is appearing at the National Arts Centre on Thursday, June 9th. The 8:30 p.m. show is sold out, but a second show has been added for 6:00 p.m. Here is the link to get tickets to the 6:00 p.m. concert: https://nac-cna.ca/en/event/31175 And here is where you can find more information about The Bros.
