The Guest List
Thursday October 8th, 2020 with Joe Reilly
Today we talk to Paul Weber about his new album Ode to Gerry Barber.

Today we talk to Paul Weber about his new album Ode to Gerry Barber and we learn a lot about our region's history as reflected in the songs on the album. Tune in to hear stories about Gerry Barber who was the bouncer at the Chaudiere Nightclub, the building of the Rideau Canal, The Heron Road Bridge construction disaster and a fire that threatened Ottawa in 1870. And you will hear how Paul Weber adapted all these stories into song for his new album. You can get more information about Paul Weber and his new album at his website. And this On Demand version features one extra song, Mansplainer, and some discussion about the song that we could not fit onto the broadcast version of the Guest List this week. www.paulweber.ca Remember, if you can afford to do it, consider purchasing music by artists that you love so they can continue to make great music for us to enjoy in the future. Those streaming services like Spotify don't pay artists nearly enough, and this is notably true when it comes to independent artists.

Tulipalooza... ha... loved that stuff. Lucky we didn't get sued. Haha. Was a total thrill to present an all local lineup with FurnaceFace and have thousands show up for the gig!!! Fond memories for sure.
