Interviews with Martin Sexton and Natalia Yanchak of the Dears (who pays tribute to Nadine Gelineau)

To start the show, we re-air part of an interview I did with Martin Sexton on Monday night here on CKCU-FM. We also talk about how he developed his amazing vocal range. Later in the show we come back to that interview and Martin talks about the time he needs away from it all to recharge his batteries, yet how it's a pretty continuous cycle being a singer-songwriter between recording, producing and then hitting the road with his new album under his belt. Natalia plays keyboards and sings with the group, and she is also the lead singer's (Murray Lightburn) life partner. In this far-reaching conversation we talk about the decision to have Natalia provide the lead vocals on the song Onward and Downward and the big themes that are encompassed on the group's latest album Times Infinity Volume 1... as well as the themes that are explored on past recordings. We also talk about the challenges of keeping a group like the Dears rolling for more than 20 years. Natalia talks about that friendship, the amazing personality that Nadine had and how much she helped the Dears over the years. We love hearing stories about how much our old friend Nadine meant to others and how she touched so many people, so this is a special part of the show today!
