Interviews with Aidan Knight, Amanda Rheaume and Jenny Berkel

Three great interviews on the show today and lots of fabulous music. First up we talk to Aidan Knight of the group Aidan Knight. We talked so much about the great music on the group's newest album Each Other that we didn't even get into how the band took on the name of the lead singer. The new record has a great, textured sound and we talk about how that came about in the studio and how the group is producing that sound live... for instance when the group plays at the Black Sheep Inn on Saturday, April 16. http://aidanknight.com/ Next we chat with Ottawa's own Amanda Rheaume about her new album Holding Patterns. It will be released in early May when Amanda and a crackerjack band play at the National Arts Centre's Fourth Stage. Amanda talks about the difference she felt writing and assembling the songs for this recording after creating such a focussed album in 2013 "Keep A Fire." She also talks about how much she enjoyed recording with Jim Bryson and how much she loves playing in a room like the NAC's Fourth Stage...as Amanda will be playing the last show on that stage before it shuts down as part of the NAC's major renovation project. The singer-songwriter currently calls Montreal home but she's lived in many places across Canada and she notes that all this moving and experiencing different parts of the country has had an impact on her music making.
