Interviews with Oh Susanna, Megan Bonnell and Petr Cancura about the upcoming Jeremy Fisher show

A great show with lots of good conversations about making music... and good tunes too. It is always a pleasure to talk to Suzie Ungerleider on this show. Suzie is better know as Oh Susanna, a singer-songwriter who has released a series of stellar albums over the past 20 years or so. Her last album Namedropper featured Suzie singing songs by other great songwriters - songs they had handed over to her as originals... songs that they had not recorded. We talk about the process of recording the songs of other people and how that process has affected her own songwriting. We also talk about how her 10 year old son does not think his Mom's songs are cool but is developing cool musical taste all his own. It is always always fun to have Suzie on the show so find out why by listening. She is playing with a pretty big band at the National Arts Centre on Friday, April 8th. http://ohsusanna.com/ Megan Bonnell has released a striking second album titled Magnolia. It has a big big sound on many songs and shimmers with strong arrangements that are at times big and bold and at other times play with space. Megan talks about the process of putting this big sound together and then paring it all down for solo shows... like her show this Sunday, April 3 at the Black Sheep Inn in Wakefield where she will be opening for Jordan Klassen. http://www.magnoliamusic.info/#magnolia Finally we talk to Petr Cancura about the upcoming Jeremy Fisher concert at the National Arts Centre on Thursday, April 7. Petr is a jazz saxophonist (and the artistic director of the Ottawa Jazz Festival) and he has put together a crackerjack jazz band to back up Jeremy and reinterpret his uplifting pop gems as jazz numbers.
