Interviews with Zach from Zolas and Tamara of The Weather Station
A couple of great interviews today about making music and art.
We talk to Zachary Gray of the Zolas, who tells us a cool story about how a guy he met in New York turned into a song and how much he loves his audiences - people who like to move to the music and have a good time but also care about the lyrics he writes. The Zolas are at Zaphod Beeblebrox on Friday, March 25.
We reconnect with the fabulous Tamara Lindeman of the Weather Station for a great conversation about the art of song-writing. She talks important passion, caution and timing are for artists and for her in particular. These themes are addressed in her song "Life's Work." We also talk about how much a sense of place and geography impacts her songwriting and her lyrics. She is performing in a trio format at the National Arts Centre's Fourth Stage next Thursday, March 31. Should be a lovely place to hear her beautiful music.
Then we throw in a couple of interesting new releases to wrap up the show.
Get out and see some live music this week
