Interviews with Fortunate Ones, Sun K, and Say Hello
Debut releases from three independent groups on today's show and interesting interviews with all of them!!
Fortunate Ones hail from St. John's Newfoundland, and their debut album "The Bliss" is dominated by uplifting pop-folk songs that are anchored by the awesome vocal harmonies of Catherine Allan and Andrew James O'Brien. We talk to them both on the show about how a fire alarm caused by cotton candy interrupted the first show of this tour, their awesome harmonies and how they put together a great collection of hopeful songs.

Sun K is not some play on the word sunk... the name has more to do with the spirit of artists like Sun Ra and Son House. Sun K mixes together folk, blues and rock with a gritty edge to the overall sound. Expect lots of energy when the band plays the Bier Mrkt tonight (March 5th) here in Ottawa. Check out the group's debut album Northern Lies on Maple Music. We talk to Kristian Montano about the band's sound and working with producer Cone McCaslin.

Say Hello hails from London, Ontario. The group has released a 3 song e.p. and will be playing a house concert in Ottawa this weekend. We talk to Danny and Cameron about the band's sound and their live performances. No the band name has NOTHING to do with the April Wine song... "Say Hello".... I had to ask them.... If you want to attend the show go to their Facebook page and send them a message.
