WOW!! What a show today. Great interviews and great music. All these acts had great things to say and will be playing awesome shows in town soon! Jill Barber will be bringing her nostalgic sound to the National Arts Centre on Saturday, March 7th. She talks to us about how much she enjoys reaching broader audiences and her wonderful sound. Hayden has a new album Hey Love coming out March 24th. He is at the National Arts Centre on Friday night (Feb. 27th) for a sold out concert. We talk about the new album and the creation of Hayden's songs. Bry Webb of the Constantines has released a couple of solid solo albums that feature a quieter side of the awesome songwriter. He brings his music to the Fourth Stage of the National Arts Centre on Saturday night (Feb. 28th) with an amazing group of musicians. A show not to be missed! He talks about the personal nature of these songs and his amazing band. Finally, Rory Magill is part of Rake-Star, a local jazz outfit that plays the music of Sun Ra and creates music inspired by this seminal jazz master. The group is playing at Mug Shots on Saturday night (Feb. 28th.) We talk about the inspiration of Sun Ra and the amazing comeback of sax phenom Rob Frayne. Get out and see some live music this week.
