Rabble Without A Cause
Wednesday August 1st, 2018 with Ron Steeds
Two pianists record sessions August 1, 1955 - Art Tatum and Herbie Nichols - one renowned, one obscure; both die less than ten years later of disease.

We contrast two pianists who were drastically different in their approaches to music.
The Art Tatum Trio - Tatum on piano, Lionel Hampton on vibraphone, Buddy Rich on piano - record a session of standards. Tatum known for his rich, technical prowess on the keyboard.
