Dutch pianist Michiel Braam - Colors
The link between music and visual arts has been an ongoing preoccupation of artists since the dawn of time. Michiel Braam who has been busy experimenting with musical colors for a long time, see his composition for piano and four clarinets, Cows and Beast, could not resist bridging this gap. His 2002 CD Colors explores the concept. It is composed of 23 short tracks that go through 23 of the 34 colors that were used for the Fuller Paint company by a US media celebrity Ken Nordine that turned these colors into poems. Thus, the stage was set for Michiel Braam to match the various pianistic Jazz styles to these colors
