Berlin Alchemy part II: the UK connection: Schubert/Müller/Edwards/Sanders

Berlin musicians travel abroad and establish connections. The most notorious case is the association between pianist Alexander Schlippenbach and soprano saxophonist Evan Parker. Younger generations of musicians follow the same path. Tonight we will look at the Jersey Lily CD of the Foils Quartet that merges two Berlin musicians and two Birmingham, UK musicians: Frank Paul Schubert, soprano saxophones Matthias Müller, trombone John Edwards, bass Mark Sanders, drums Their music is of a sustained intensity and moves like a dynamics roller coaster.
