Three outstanding jazz musicians passed away May 25 - Wardell Gray in 1955, Paul Quinichette in 1983, Sonny Sharrock in 1994. Tonight we pay tribute to them. Wardell Gray made a name for himself dueling Dexter Gordon in tenor sax battles. Paul Quinichette was given the nickname "Vice Pres" because of his uncanny similarity to the sound and style of Lester Young. Sonny Sharrock was one of the first guitarists in the 60's to adopt a free jazz style.
