During the first part of the program, I’ll present Phil woods, one of the true masters of the bop vocabulary. He had his own sound beginning in the mid-'50s. He was one of the top alto saxophonists in jazz, and he lost neither his enthusiasm nor his creativity through the years. During the second part , I’ll present Johnny Dyani a magnificent South African bassist and pianist, who played with such musicians as Dudu Pukwana, Don Cherry and John Tchicai.
