In March of 1946, at the age of 22, pianist Joe Albany was Charlie Parker's favourite pianist during Bird's time in LA. In August of 1946 Albany was the pianist in a session led by Lester Young. Albany would go on to play with many local LA musicians. Then in the 1950's Joe Albany fell off the map. He would reemerge in the early 1970's having cleaning himself up and would continue to create outstanding jazz until his passing in early 1988. It is from this fruitful period in his career that we present today,
