This week on INSIDE JAZZ we celebrate the birth of Joe Lovano, born December 29, 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio. We hear Joe on tenor sax as part of two ensembles led by drummer Paul Motian. In the first hour presents the Paul Motian Trio's IT SHOULD'VE HAPPENED A LONG TIME AGO recorded in July 1984 for the ECM label. In the second hour Ron features the Paul Motian Quintet's MYSTERIOSO recorded two years later on July 14-16, 1986 for the Soul Note label.
