This week on INSIDE JAZZ we focus on two recordings that feature Archie Shepp in a large ensemble recorded April 12, 1975 and in a duo setting recorded April 25, 1977. On both recordings he performs on tenor and soprano saxes. The first album is a suite that leans toward an Afrocentric feel and the second record is a selection of gospel and spiritual compositions. The two records go a long way in displaying Shepp's musical concerns at the height of his prowess,
