Today we feature two albums recorded live at the Village Vanguard. The Village Vanguard welcomed predominantly jazz musicians starting in 1957 and many outstanding recordings were made there. We play two of them today. In the first hour Jim presents Joe Henderson's THE STATE OF THE TENOR: LIVE AT THE VILLAGE VANGUARD VOLUME 1, recorded in November of 1985. In the second hour Ron offers up PENDULUM by the Dave Liebman Quintet, recorded in February of 1978.
