This week on INSIDE JAZZ the focus of the program is pianist/educator Lennie Tristano. In the first hour Jim introduces Tristano's recording CONTINUITY on the Jazz Records label. In the second hour Ron presents an album co-led by two of Tristano's students - Warne Marsh and Lee Konitz - called JAZZ EXCHANGE VOL. 1 on the Storyville label. Lennie Tristano was an influential but shadowy figure in the history of jazz. Today we pull back the curtain on the legend of Lennie Tristano.

Is, "teach Improvisation" an oxymoron? Lennie is a very good "Technician"..... best guys I know can't read music....don't talk about "keys";-) ....course I'm a hillbilly!;-) Great drumming!!
