On today's episode I play some of the bands that are playing are Blaster Caps // CKCU Funding Drive Ripper Shows including ALIENATOR (Portland, OR), KLEENER (Toronto), CONSTRICTOR (Sudbury), ACID ROT, and B.A.L.M. SQUAD. Plus some 1980's Cancon crossover thrash, hardcore, and anarcho punk including BEYOND POSSESSION (Calgary), SUDDEN IMPACT (Toronto), UNWARRANTED TRUST (Ottawa), BLUE OIL (Montreal), FRACTRICIDE (Vancouver), and GENETIC CONTROL (Montreal). I also play some new IDEAL VICTIM (Portugal), ABISM (NYC), and IDENTITY SHOCK (Atlanta). I end with RADIO LOVE by THE BREAKERS (Los Angeles). The CKCU Funding Drive is here, as well as the 50-year anniversary of CKCU 93.1FM! This year, with the help of friends, the amazing folks at CKCU, and my fellow Wizards at House of TARG, we've organized two rippin' punk gigs to celebrate and raise money for the station! Each show will have limited Blaster Caps mixtapes for the first few people through the door. We've also put together a zine titled 'A Punks Guide To Underground Radio' showcasing a ton of awesome punk radio shows around the world. The first show is TONIGHT (Tuesday, November 4th), with crossover hardcore rippers ALIENATOR from Portland, Oregon, and locals LICENSE and ACID ROT. The second show is Thursday, November 6th, with Toronto hardcore punks KLEENER, Sudbury's newest rippers CONSTRICTOR, one of our favourite local bands B.A.L.M. SQUAD, and some new Ottawa blood, CANDY SAYS. Both shows are happening at House of TARG. Come celebrate 50 years of CKCU and support community radio!
