Bedtime Stories

ALTUS - The music of Ottawa musician Mike Carss (Part 2)
This evening we venture back into a songless-world; ambience, instrumental and electronic compositions throughout.
We'll hear the second part of a feature on Ottawa musician Mike Carss, whose work is mostly released under the name "Altus" and occasionally "Loneward". Mike has an extensive back catalogue stretching back over 20 years or so. 2021 will be another busy year for Mike, aiming to compose and record more albums between now and 2022.
Shortly before Christmas Mike joined me in the show's virtual "Listening Room" for a chat about his career and works to date. He's also recommended one of this evening's other artists to me.
If you'd like to recommend a piece of music to be played on a future edition of "Bedtime Stories" you can make your suggestion on the show's interactive page at any time. We're looking for recommendations around any of the following topics:
- Tunes you've first discovered in other people's collections.
- Ambient or instrumental music
- Artists that you saw at your first or most recent gig.
- Tunes that promote racial equality.
- Local artists that you'd like to recommend to other listeners.
Mike's catalogue of albums, some of which are now available for free or at very low cost, can be found here:
