By early 1976 David Bowie was becoming desperate to flea the cocaine-fuelled craziness of his lifestyle in LA. Decamping first to Switzerland and then to Berlin he found refuge in the anonymity of the city and its underground club scene. And there he remained for 3 years, releasing a sequence of albums that later became known as "the Berlin Trilogy".
In this evening's show we'll feature several artists who've sampled and/or covered some of David Bowie's work from that period. We'll also hear 4 Canadian artists/bands who've made their mark on Berlin in those years. And, in the case of one musician from Toronto, how Berlin has left an indelible mark on him.
*Chris is sitting in for the show's main host Big Shovel.
