Lesson Hear
Wednesday August 28th, 2019 with Bruce Walton
late summer ska-fest

Ska was the popular music of Jamaica in the 1960's, prior to reggae. Its sound was revived in England in the late 1970's, initially by Coventry band The Specials, who added some punk energy to the music's distinctive rhythmic feel. The energy quotient went up again in the 1990's in so-called 3rd wave ska, as you will hear.
