Based in Toronto, Sheila White is a singer-songwriter, choral director, anti-litter activist and community builder. She recently curated a magnificent multi-media exhibit to her aunt Portia White (1911-1968), the Nova Scotian classical singer who overcame racism and other challenges to become the first Canadian musician to establish an international reputation -- see www.portiawhite.ca. Sheila presents excerpts from that project at a Black History Month event hosted by the Network of Black Business and Professional Women today at 5:30 pm in the Centrepointe council chamber -- see http://www.facebook.com/events/333373593846346.
Singer, author and anti-bullying activist Maria Hawkins talks about issues and solutions related to bullying, with specific reference to children.
