Each week I'll be playing a track from "The Pink Years", which is the early period of the group pre-dating their time with Virgin. Alpha Centauri was my introduction to the group, and reminded me of early Pink Floyd. Probably the spaciest period of the group. |

One of the many gems in the "In Search of Hades" box set is the inclusion of the "lost" album between Phaedra and Rubycon, the soundtrack "Oedipus Tyrannus". Parts of this were previously released, and reworked into Side 4 of "Encore", but this is the first time the full thing has been available. While it certainly sounds of its era, there are elements unheard in either Phaedra or Rubycon. |

Another classic of the group, 1975's Rubycon is one of the foundational albums setting the template for Berlin School electronic music. This is the newly remastered version from the box set but you can't really go wrong with any version of it. The box also includes a lengthy unreleased introduction from the album, mixed by Steven Wilson. |

This week's entry from the Quantum Years, this composition was the only track from "Mala Kunia" that was not written by Edgar Froese, and here is performed live on the Particles EP. |
