Welcome To My World
Tuesday September 20th, 2016 with Kim Kilpatrick and Shelley Ann Morris
News from the Disability Community, a tribute to a fellow CKCU Host, Prince Buster, Lucas Haneman and scenes from CityFolk.
Lots going on in the disability community! Kim and Shelley Ann have been very busy lately. This week in Ottawa, there will be a CNIB Tech Fair (Tuesday September 20 at City Hall). Also at City Hall, there will be a Volunteer Rendezvous on September 22--come on down and find your best volunteer opportunity.
Also on the show, we pay tribute to Junior Smith who has a place on the United Way Community Builder Wall of Inspiration. Reggae/ska icon Prince Buster passes away at age 78.
Shelley is just back from serving on the Accessibility Crew at Cityfolk--she has some great stories to tell.
Kim will recap Guide Dog night and last night's GTT meeting.
In local music, Lucas Haneman has an Indiegogo campaign to raise funds for an upcoming CD--Shelley shamelessly brags about the Haig's CD release party at Maverick's on Saturday September 24.
