In fact, 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of Hay Fever's first production. Coward wrote the play after hiding himself away in the country for three days and dashing off a story about a dizzying weekend of social catastrophe. The story takes place at the country house of a retired actress and her overly artistic family who strike fear in the hearts of their innocent guests. Apparently, Coward based this hilarious tale on real life! |
