Modern Classic
Dylan Menzie - Modern Classic Canadian New
Standing at a figurative fork in the road on his creative journey, Dylan Menzie didn’t opt for one route over the other; instead, he simply decided to extend his trip and explore both with an eager heart and open mind.

The acclaimed PEI-based songsmith had amassed an array of fresh material amidst the support cycle for his 2018 EP, As the Clock Rewinds – a collection of reimagined tracks from his breakout 2016 studio LP, Adolescent Nature. When it came time to flesh out their arrangements and put them to tape, though, he found himself staring down two distinct trails. One would bring him deeper down the path of forthright, earnest folk music anchored by organic instrumentation and his unmistakable vocal stylings – that which had already earned him an enviable amount of acclaim and accolades. The other would lead into more abstract and ethereal territory – lush soundscapes defined by digital flourishes and off-kilter experimentation.

Supposed to Be
Amanda Rheaume - s/t Canadian New
All Sides of Me
Amanda Rheaume - s/t Canadian New
Amanda Rheaume’s rootsy, guitar-driven songs introduce crucial dimensions to the world of Heartland Rock. In a genre characterized by anthems of underdogs, assumptions and unfair advantages, Rheaume’s sound and story crucially and radically expand the boundaries, geographic and cultural, to make space for new perspectives on resistance and resilience.

A Citizen of the Métis Nation, and an active and proud member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, Rheaume’s music is indeed from the heart, and the land.

Julian Taylor - Beyond the Reservoir Canadian New
Toronto-based singer-songwriter Julian Taylor has been part of the musical fabric and landscape in Canada for two decades. Taylor is conscious and proud of his mixed Black and Mohawk heritage. "I come from two strong oral traditions and cultures," he says. “One was stolen from their land and brought here and the other had their land stolen. It’s been an uphill battle ever since and the fight is far from over... I did not grow up on a reservation. I have strong roots in Kahnawake, which is a reservation in Québec, Canada. I have family there and I’ve been visiting since I could crawl."
