THE NEW ALBUM, HIS FIRST IN 5 YEARS, FEATURES "BAD TIMING" AND COVER OF SUZANNE VEGA'S "TOM'S DINER"
Singer-Songwriter Don Brownrigg shares with the world his brand new album, Fireworks, his first new album in five years. The album features the CBC Music Top 20 charting song, "Bad Timing". Since his last album, he has traveled to China as a puppeteer, pursued a degree in Osteopathy, worked behind the scenes as a festival presenter, and fell in and out of love twice. These elements are what helped form the thematic foundation of the newest album.

“I had two big relationships in the writing of this and was at two opposite points of view in them," says Brownrigg. "In one relationship, I was the one stifling, clipping it, pushing away, closing myself in, and then I was the opposite the next time. So looking back at that, seeing the similarities, what I wanted from each one, what I had to give, but also the shitty things I did, or the good things I did, or the shitty things the other person might have done.”

Grand Opening April 17!

Superette
1306 Wellington St W, Ottawa, ON

"The interior scheme at Superette is convenience store-meets-soda fountain. Pegboards propped with cannabis-adjacent products: vaporizers, pipes, papers, infusers, merch, and more are displayed throughout the store while cannabis can be ordered at the counter."

"Select buds are on display at central tables but printed menus list the entire inventory organized under the headings: indica, sativa, hybrid, and listed by brand. Prices are on par with the Ontario Cannabis Store ranging from $7.49 to $16.99 for a single gram."

"Aside from cannabis, find everything you need to start smoking, vaping, and/or baking. A wide variety of grinders, papers, pipes, storage solutions, and infusers stock the shelves."

Customers are greeted by security at the front doors and are required to present a valid ID before entering.

"And, while branded Superette merch is on display throughout the store, much of it can’t be sold alongside cannabis per provincial regulations. To score one of the sweet totes, t-shirts, or hats, you’ll have to rely on off-site pop-up shops to make a purchase."

Calum Graham - Thread of Creation Canadian New
Jazz weather this morning features fingerstyle guitarist, Canadian Calum Graham with a brand new release

https://www.calumgraham.com/

At only 26 years old, Calum Graham has already enjoyed a career that would be the envy of most artists twice his age and was recently named one of the World’s Top 30 Guitarists under 30 by Acoustic Guitar Magazine. His signature playing style has enthralled millions of listeners on Youtube and Spotify which has led to tours across America, Europe, and China.

Calum plays both the Acoustic as well as the Harp Guitar in his live set and his original melodies are guaranteed to pull at your heartstrings. His music embraces elements of folk, world, and blues – all built upon the foundation of the fingerstyle technique.

Born in British Columbia and raised in High River, Alberta, Graham’s musical journey first took flight when he began playing the guitar at the age of 13. Five years later in the summer of 2010, Graham attended the Canadian Guitar Festival and entered the prestigious Canadian Fingerstyle Guitar Competition. Impressed with his original compositions, the judges awarded Graham with a first place finish; a feat no other teenager has accomplished in the history of the festival. The clip of his winning performance has now generated almost 1 million hits on YouTube.
