Forever Young (Alphaville Cover)
Mark Fossen - s/t Canadian

From Mark -
4 years ago I uploaded a video of myself playing a cover of Alphaville’s Forever Young to YouTube in the hopes that it might help me secure a few wedding gigs that summer. It now has 500k+ views, and people recently started asking me if they could buy the audio somewhere on the world wide interwebs. So, I did a random digital release with zero promo and holy shit wouldn’t you know it...It’s sitting at #5 on the iTunes charts in Spain

“I grew up force-fed country music in my grandmother’s trailer on the St Lawrence river, so of course I rebelled against it,” she recalls. But her Sunday evenings with The Ole Fashion — and several trips to Nashville — reignited her interest in country music. And she’s spent most of her summer touring as a duo with the band’s pedal steel player, Kevin “The General” Neal. Always one for reinvention, she’s put together a new band including Jimmy Reid (Matthew Good, Blackie Jackett Jr), Kyle Teixeira and Adam Warner (Jill Barber, Royal Wood).

While she was born in Cornwall and grew up in Canada, Brulée has also lived in France and Australia. She currently lives in Toronto but spends a lot of time songwriting in Nashville. She’s already opened for Kathleen Edwards; won a Stingray Music Rising Star Award, and joined Chicago’s Strategic Touring for US booking.

Sarah Howard EP Release Party

At 8:10 am we speak with Sarah Howard, who is waking up in Toronto but heading back to Ottawa to get ready for this show.

Friday, September 21 at 8 PM at Pressed, 750 Gladstone Ave. Ottawa

NIAGARA is singer-songwriter Sarah Howard's début EP release, an autobiographical work exploring the bittersweet relationship we all have with home. Recorded with Dave Draves at Little Bullhorn Productions in Ottawa, the EP explores how trauma maps onto real and imagined spaces.

Sarah Howard is a singer-songwriter based in Ottawa, telling tales of love, loss, and travel through folk song and a jazz-inflected singing style. Under the mentorship of Juno winner Lynn Miles, Sarah recently completed an Honours Bachelor of Music in songwriting.

Sarah Bradley is a singer-songwriter based in Ottawa, ON. She captivates audiences with her keyboard, soulful voice, and songs that are full of emotion and sincerity. Her musical influences are pulled from a wide array of genres, but her ambient-pop sound remains her own.

Wychwood is Ottawa's one and only blackgrass duo, resurrecting ghosts in their renditions of traditional murder ballads and other feral folk songs.

Tickets available at the door, $10/PWYC
